Bear chased up tree by Jack the house cat.

For those who are cat owners, or keepers, or are owned by cats. This story is one which is truly entertaining.

This is Jack, a cat who is truly a home cat. Jack weighs in at about 15 pounds, and is very protective of his territory. So protective of his yard that he chased a bear out of his yard.

"We used to joke, 'Jack's on duty,' never knowing he'd go after a bear," owner Donna Dickey told The Star-Ledger of Newark for Friday's editions.
Neighbor Suzanne Giovanetti first spotted Jack's accomplishment after her husband saw a bear climb a tree on the edge of their northern New Jersey property on Sunday. Giovanetti thought Jack was simply looking up at the bear, but soon realized the much larger animal was afraid of the hissing cat.

In this picture, the bear is obviously up the tree, and that tiny orange spot at the base of the tree is the really annoyed house cat Jack.

From the picture, it appears as though Jack is about 1/10th the size of the bear, but physical size is no substitute for attitude. For those of you who doubt that, I suggest you check out Michelle Malkin.
