It's George Bush's fault she had sex.

My friends, I wish I had not read this link on Democratic Underground called "George Bush forced her to have an Abortion". It's also carried on the Democratic Daily.

a women explains how she wound up seeking an abortion due to being unable to obtain Plan B, an emergency contraceptive pill which can prevent pregnancy if taken within seventy-two hours of conception. The author explains her inability to obtain a prescription –all of which sounds quite plausible to someone in the medical profession. She then explains why a prescription was necessary

The core of the story is found at this Washington Post Link where a poor defenseless woman was denied herprescriptionn for "plan B" the immediate contraception pill, because of the religious ideals being put into politics. She is outraged at a number of things, including the fact that you would need aprescriptionn for the pill in the first place.

Among other things she is outraged about, is the fact that in Virginia, if you want an Abortion, you have to wait 24 hours to consider it after your counseling appointment. She simply couldn't afford to take two days off of work. I should point out our poor heroine is a Lawyer and a Writer, with a practice in DC.

I would be willing to bet, while I am not sure, but the odds are in my favor, that Dana L. The Lawyer who's full name is withheld for her privacy is in favor of a waiting period for purchase of firearms. Most (granted not all) Liberals are in favor of the waiting period for firearm purchases, and Dana seems like a serious far left wing Liberal. Now a waiting period for firearms is fine, but a single day to consider a serious and complex decision like Abortion is too much to ask apparently. So our dear writer had to suffer the indignity of going to an inner city abortion clinic downtown in Washington D.C. and suffer the slings and arrows of the people gathered outside as she entered for her procedure.

I just bet Dana is outraged, seriously outraged that Nebraska has banned Abortions.

How did all this happen you ask? How did an apparently intelligent woman (she is a lawyer, and thus apparently possessed of at least an average intelligence level) end up being pregnant by surprise apparently? I am a 42-year-old happily married mother of two elementary-schoolers. My husband and I both work, and like many couples, we're starved for time together. One Thursday evening this past March, we managed to snag some rare couple time and, in a sudden rush of passion, I failed to insert my diaphragm.

But I feel that this administration gave me practically no choice but to have an unwanted abortion because the way it has politicized religion made it well-nigh impossible for me to get emergency contraception that would have prevented the pregnancy in the first place.

She forgot her catchers mitt, and that is George Bush, and the "Religious people" who made her life a living hell. Imagine the disdain she feels towards those she disapproves of. Those people shouldn't be involved in political decisions. One of the sad parts of this is that those people, those Religious people, Conservatives etc. cared more for her and her children than she did.

Despite what she makes out here, Abortions are neither safe nor easy. eMedicine has a write up of Abortion Complications.

Plan B on the other hand is only effective 89% of the time, so it is even possible that Dana would still face an Abortion if she was determined to keep from getting pregnant. Of course, Dana is used to taking risks, since herpreferredd method of Birth Control is only 80% effective, which means one chance in five of failure.

Dana likes to play pregnancy roulette, and like all liberals, everyone else is to blame but the ones who do the action in question.

UPDATE: The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler is running with this story.
